Football Recap: Wawasee Drops Season-High Score on Northridge

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wawasee can now relate to. They fell 35-26 to the Northridge Raiders on Friday. On the bright side, the 26- point effort marked the Warriors' highest-scoring game to date.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Johnny Zachary, who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, and also caught one touchdown.

Karsyn Rumfelt had a dynamite game For Northridge., rushing for 117 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 117 rushing yards gave Rumfelt a new career-high. Austin Horn was another key player, gaining 110 total yards and a touchdown.

Wawasee is on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9. As for Northridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-7 record this season.

Wawasee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northridge, they will face off against South Bend Saint Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' defense has only allowed 8.9 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
