League recap: Richardson overpowering for Parker in past week

5A Area 8 league recap: 3/27/13

Rodney Richardson was the top pitcher in 5A Area 8 this week, leading Parker. He picked up one win and six strikeouts.

Omari Williams was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .429 average, one home run and five RBIs. Meanwhile, the Thundering Herd put together a 2-0 week.

Parker's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only two hits and six walks, both of which led the league.

The Thundering Herd stole 23 bases this week, adding to their league-leading 145 steals on the year.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Rodney Richardson, who collected four hits in six at bats for a .667 average.



Parker's Kristopher Reynolds led the league in strikeouts this week with six. He's seventh in the league with eight total strikeouts.

Williams was an RBI machine on Monday, as he knocked in four runs during the Thundering Herd's 19-1 win over Jackson-Olin. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
