Basketball Recap: Brentwood Academy Takes a Loss

Brentwood Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montgomery Bell Academy Big Red. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-49 last Thursday.

Brentwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brentwood Academy will host Ensworth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brentwood Academy is facing Ensworth at the right time seeing as Ensworth is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, they will welcome Pope John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pope John Paul II knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Montgomery Bell Academy likes a good challenge.
