Baseball Recap: Jamestown Comes Up Short

Jamestown extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They came up short against the Maplewood Tigers, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-4 back in March.

As for Maplewood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

For Maplewood's part, Paul Hirosky was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Hirosky a new career-high. Chase Koelle was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jamestown will host Cambridge Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maplewood, they will welcome Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
