Basketball Game Preview: Tatum Coyotes vs. Jal Panthers

Tatum is 0-10 against Jal since April of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Tatum Coyotes will venture away from home to challenge the Jal Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tatum is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 77-28 loss at the hands of Texico. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Wolverines are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Jal challenged Hagerman on Monday. Jal took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hagerman. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 13-9 in the first quarter.

This is the second loss in a row for Jal and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Tatum, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Tatum was taken down by Jal 65-36 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Tatum avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
