Haverling hadn't done well against Wellsville recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Lions. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on 14 straight.

Kaili Witherell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Witherell wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kasandra Plewa, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Haverling kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Haverling's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Wellsville, with the defeat, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-3.

Haverling has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Fredonia on the 4th. Wellsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
