Football Recap: Stevens Point Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Stevens Point was the 37-16 winner over Wausau West when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Saturday. Despite 156 more yards than the Warriors, the Panthers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Stevens Point lost, don't look at Trent Breitbach. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards and two scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 152 yards on 16 of 24 attempts.

Shea Jones was a one-man wrecking crew For Wausau West. as he picked up 79 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Those 79 receiving yards gave Jones a new career-high.

Stevens Point's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Wausau West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
