Basketball Recap: Halstead Starts Season with Win Against Rose Hill

Halstead had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Rose Hill Rockets 62-59. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 55-52 victory the Rockets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2015.

Rose Hill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zander Ford, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 18 points and four steals, and Nick Bentley, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Haugh, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Halstead didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-53 defeat against Wichita HomeSchool on the 10th. As for Rose Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-44 loss against Garden Plain on the 10th.
