Softball Recap: Greenup County's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Greenup County dropped their record down to 18-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boyd County Lions. The Musketeers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

As for Boyd County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

For Boyd County's part, the team relied heavily on Myla Hamilton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most hits Hamilton has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Goad, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenup County will square off against Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boyd County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
