Volleyball Recap: Creekview Comes Up Short

Creekview came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Ryan Raiders. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Creekview was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ryan work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 26-24, 25-11.

Despite the loss, Creekview still got an impressive performance from Priyanka Thomas, who had ten assists and seven digs.

Ryan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abigail Vasquez, who had 21 digs and three aces. Vasquez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Preslie Shiflett, who had 14 digs.

Creekview's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Ryan, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Creekview will face off against White at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Ryan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Azle on the 21st.
