Softball Recap: Nelson Has No Trouble Against David Douglas

While Nelson put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for David Douglas. Nelson blew past David Douglas 11-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Nelson.

The team relied heavily on Ellie Nix, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Huspek, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Nelson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Nelson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. Nelson are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for David Douglas, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Gresham at 5:00 p.m. The Gophers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Scots surely won't give up without a fight.
