Baseball Recap: Niles Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Niles Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Saturday.

Niles Notre Dame got a good showing from Christian Lopez, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

Niles Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1. As for Nazareth Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Niles Notre Dame will welcome Lake View at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nazareth Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m.
