Baseball Recap: Kingston's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Kingston lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Tushka, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Redskins put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Redskins have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lander Burkhalter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady Greene, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Brock Rumer was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

The victory (which was Kingston's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tushka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-5.

Looking ahead, Kingston will host Colbert at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tushka, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-3 victory against Dewar on the 22nd.
