Basketball Recap: Clinton Christian Academy Warriors vs. Hillcrest Christian Cougars

Clinton Christian Academy had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 71-43 loss at the hands of the Hillcrest Christian Cougars. The Warriors were down 62-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for Hillcrest Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

DeAngelo Nicholson went supernova, going 8-for-12 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was AJ Thompson, who shot 42% from the field en route to 13 points and five boards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Hillcrest Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Crystal Springs at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
