Shawnee Mission South put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 victory over the Broomfield Eagles. The team accrued 33 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

When it comes to explaining why Broomfield lost, don't look at Ethan Zufall. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 9 on his way to 17 points. Zufall has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Cole Sonnesyn was another key player, putting up five points.

Shawnee Mission South's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Broomfield, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
