Football Game Preview: St. Helena Saints vs. Middletown Mustangs + How To Watch

The St. Helena Saints will face off against the Middletown Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Helena sitting on five straight victories and Middletown on four.

St. Helena is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Kelseyville 53-23 on Friday. The score was close at halftime, but the Saints pulled away in the second half with 28 points.

Eric Torres was his usual excellent self, rushing for 126 yards on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Helena was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

St. Helena didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dean Sommer and Oliver Harvey.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Middletown and Willits, and Middletown kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs walked away with a 22-9 win over the Wolverines on Friday.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tyler Galamay and Trenton Griffith. Galamay rushed for 58 yards and one TD on only six carries while Griffith gained 46 total yards.

St. Helena's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Middletown, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

St. Helena came out on top in a nail-biter against Middletown in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 9-7. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
