Monte Vista Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The St. Francis Sharks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Monte Vista Christian will be strutting in after a win while St. Francis will be coming in after a defeat.
Monte Vista Christian can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-19 win over Watsonville at home.
Dominic Pierini was his usual excellent self, throwing for 486 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in a rushing score. Nicolas Jimenez also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, St. Francis suffered a rough 49-28 loss at the hands of Seaside on Friday. St. Francis has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Monte Vista Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Francis, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Monte Vista Christian was dealt a bruising 28-0 defeat at the hands of St. Francis when the teams last played back in August of 2022. Can Monte Vista Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
