Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Union Falcons vs. Washington Blue Lions

The Fairfield Union Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Washington Blue Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield Union will be strutting in after a victory while Washington will be coming in after a loss.

Fairfield Union is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Sheridan by a score of 68-58 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakwood.

Fairfield Union will have to keep a close watch on Noah Haithcock and Roman Chijevsky, a pair of players who had a big impact on Washington's prior game. Haithcock went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points and four steals, while Chijevsky went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Chijevsky a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeston Everhart, who posted nine points.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fairfield Union, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Fairfield Union didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Washington in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory.
