Volleyball Recap: Jernie Morris Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Maysville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mound City, South Holt was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Maysville Wolverines with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-4.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Holt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jernie Morris, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces Morris has posted over her last seven matchups. Camdyn Davison also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

They weren't the only good server: South Holt was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

South Holt's win bumped their record up to 2-6-1. As for Maysville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, South Holt and Maysville will both be playing Union Star the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will head out to face the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Knights will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
