Football Recap: St. Michael's Piles Up the Points Against St. John XXIII

St. Michael won the last time they faced St. John XXIII and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-12 win. The Warriors pushed the score to 49-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had no chance of recovering from.

Nico Anderson went supernova, throwing for 238 yards and five TDs. Ian Quinn handled things on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

St. Michael's run defense was locked in: St. John XXIII could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. While three picked up at least six total tackles, Danny Smith stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made six total tackles (4.5 for loss). St. Michael's didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged ten.

St. Michael's defense also made the game a nightmare for Whitt Broussard., racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Smith and Joe Logan, who racked up four sacks between them.

St. Michael's has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 43.5 points this season. As for St. John XXIII, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
