Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder). Their defense stepped up to hand the Brighton Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. Boulder's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matchups.

Their offense was hitting Brighton from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Mikel Mackey led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Boulder pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Brighton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
