Basketball Recap: Khlloe Shorey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lowry over Spanish Springs

Lowry suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Saturday. They came up short against the Spanish Springs Cougars, falling 64-44. The Buckaroos were probably out for revenge after losing 52-39 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lowry lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Khlloe Shorey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Shorey a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Britain Backus, who posted 20 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Lowry's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Spanish Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Lowry will host South Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lowry is facing South Tahoe at the right time seeing as South Tahoe is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Spanish Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-37 win against Reno on the 10th.
