Thales Academy Apex pushed their score all the way to 69 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Thales Academy Apex in their matchups with Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill: they've now lost five in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Justin Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times he's played. Luke Railo was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, SouthLake Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 72-55 bruising from Concord Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Thales Academy Apex's loss dropped their record down to 11-23. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-15.
