Basketball Recap: Ridge Point Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Bend Clements last Tuesday, Ridge Point came back down to earth. The Ridge Point Panthers were beaten by the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes 64-33 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-49 back in January.

Ridge Point's loss came despite strong showings from Sydney Person and Kameah Matthews-Ae. Person went 6 of 14 to rack up 17 points, while Matthews-Ae posted nine points. Carly Pargoud also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Ridge Point's defeat dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Fort Bend Hightower, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 28-5.

Ridge Point wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-46 loss against Fort Bend Austin on the 4th. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they have also already played their next match, a 78-15 victory against Fort Bend Elkins on the 4th.
