Recap: North Mac Panthers vs. Greenville Comets
The North Mac Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Greenville at home and fell 48-20. While losing is never fun, North Mac can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Greenville is ranked 128th).
Dane Vance and James Graves, North Mac certainly did their beston Friday to try and avoid the loss. Vance rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown, while Graves rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown. Another big playmaker for North Mac was Nick Lancaster, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
North Mac's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-3 Carlinville and 6-3 Pana (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Greenville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
North Mac does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Greenville is also done with their season.
