Soccer Game Preview: Clarkston vs. North Central

The Clarkston Bantams will head out to square off against the North Central Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkston's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Clarkston is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against East Valley on Thursday. Clarkston took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Valley.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, North Central was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of West Valley by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, North Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while West Valley are ranked 12th).

Clarkston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.

Clarkston might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from North Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can Clarkston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
