Weslaco and Steele squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Weslaco had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Knights and fell 45-14. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Chris Luna threw for 31 yards on four of ten attempts.

DJ Green had a dynamite game For Steele., throwing for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Green has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamin Harvell, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Weslaco's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Steele, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Weslaco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Steele, they will take on Johnson at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
