Baseball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian's last matchup with Clare could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 13-2 to the Pioneers. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13-1. As for Clare, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will face off against Sault Area at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clare, they will challenge Benzie Central on Saturday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
