Baseball Recap: Pilot Rock Drops Highest Score of Season Against Elgin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pilot Rock). They put the hurt on the Elgin Huskies with a sharp 13-3 win on Tuesday. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Tracen Hamby made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pilot Rock is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise. Hamby was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Carrer VanHouten was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Krister Litfin, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Pilot Rock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pilot Rock's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Elgin, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

As of now, neither Pilot Rock nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
