Plainview has gone 9-1 against Neligh-Oakdale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Plainview Pirates will challenge the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Plainview has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Plainview is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Plainview lost 37-16 to Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard].

Despite their loss, Plainview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kenzie Doerr, who posted eight points and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Miller, who had two points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Plainview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Neligh-Oakdale had to suffer through a 67-31 loss at the hands of Niobrara/Verdigre. The Warriors have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Neligh-Oakdale's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Plainview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Plainview strolled past Neligh-Oakdale when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 48-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plainview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
