Recap: Holbrook Roadrunners vs. Monument Valley Mustangs

The Holbrook Roadrunners entered their tilt with the Monument Valley Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Holbrook strolled past Monument Valley with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 65-46. Given Holbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Monument Valley is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tyler Tapaha was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Salabye, who scored 19 points.

Holbrook's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Monument Valley, they have fallen quite a ways from their 27-4 record last season and are now at 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holbrook will take on Payson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Payson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Monument Valley, they will be playing at home against Alchesay at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
