Amherst County strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Liberty Minuteman 17-0. The Lancers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jaelyn Ross was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ross was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

In other pitching news, Reagan Hunt looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Anneslee Terry, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kameron Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Amherst County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted an OBP of .273.

Amherst County's record now sits at 10-0. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amherst County will welcome Appomattox County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
