Baseball Recap: Laney's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 18

Laney had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Ashley Screaming Eagle on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

TJ Ziermann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carston Wedemeyer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jackson Noon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

The victory (which was Laney's 18th in a row) raised their record to 22-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Ashley, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5.

Coming up, Laney will take on Jordan on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight. Ashley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
