It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dakota Valley had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Beresford Watchdogs by a score of 84-77. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Watchdogs are ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dakota Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-7. As for Beresford, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Coming up, Dakota Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sioux Falls Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sioux Falls Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Beresford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
