Basketball Recap: Patchogue-Medford Comes Up Short

Patchogue-Medford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 64-34 defeat at the hands of the William Floyd Colonials. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 831st, while the Colonials are ranked 70th).

Patchogue-Medford's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for William Floyd, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Patchogue-Medford is set to face off against their familiar foe Longwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, William Floyd will challenge rival Riverhead at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
