Recap: Liberty Chargers vs. Freedom Patriots
The Liberty Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 47-25 defeat at the hands of Freedom. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Liberty of the 38-23 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2016.
Despite the defeat, Liberty had strong showings from India Smith, who scored 12 points, and Christina Mossey, who scored three points along with five steals.
Liberty's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
Liberty will be playing at home against Celebration at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Celebration is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to face off against Harmony at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
