Baseball Recap: Payson Takes a Loss

Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Uintah Utes, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Utes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 last Wednesday.

Brigzen Houser was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Payson is 2-1 when Houser posts three or more hits, but 3-11 otherwise. Cole Neves was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Uintah, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Utes beat Payson by a score of 7-2 later that day.
