Baseball Game Preview: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Snowflake Lobos

Winslow hasn't had much luck against Snowflake recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. Winslow has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Winslow is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 13-4 to Buckeye.

Zack Sanchez and Aiden Martinez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanchez scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Martinez scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Martinez is becoming a predictor of Winslow's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 0-10-1 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Snowflake didn't have quite enough to beat Rio Rico on Friday and fell 3-1. The Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Curtis Hollom was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Snowflake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Edge Bryant also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Winslow's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Snowflake, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Winslow suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Snowflake in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
