Baseball Game Preview: Compton Tarbabes vs. Firebaugh Falcons

The Compton Tarbabes are taking a road trip to square off against the Firebaugh Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Compton will be strutting in after a victory while Firebaugh will be coming in after a defeat.

Compton proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Rancho Dominguez a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tarbabes have posted since April 12, 2025.

The result came thanks to Andrew Ruiz's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Compton's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Arturo Loera, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Erik Vera, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Firebaugh had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 11-1 to Wiseburn- Da Vinci on Wednesday.
