Preview: Halls Red Devils vs. Wren Hurricanes
The Halls Red Devils are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Wren Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Halls got the win against Karns by a conclusive 81-59. The victory was just what Halls needed coming off of a 70-48 defeat in their prior contest.
Jake Lane was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Halls' points. Another player making a difference was Chandler Gamble, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wren was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodmont on Monday, taking the game 75-68. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wren.
Jeremiah Campbell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. Rhett Warga was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
The victory got Halls back to even at 7-7. As for Wren, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Halls have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 30.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Wren struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 26.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
