Baseball Recap: Todd County Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Todd County Central had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Varsity Opponent on Monday. The Rebels were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Varsity Opponent. While the Rebels didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ty Jolly made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Devin Schutt was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Todd County Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.
