Volleyball Recap: Cornell Comes Up Short

Cornell came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Bruce Red Raiders. The loss continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Red Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.

Cornell took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21, 27-25.

Kallee DeKarske paced Cornell's offense, picking up seven kills. DeKarske really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cornell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Bruce, with the victory, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-12.

Coincidentally, Cornell and Bruce will both be playing Flambeau the next time they take the court. The Red Raiders will head out to face the Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Chiefs will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
