Football Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove fought the good fight in their overtime game against Davie County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the War Eagles were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 27-26 defeat. While the Grizzlies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the War Eagles 6-0 in the first quarter.

Oak Grove's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Dalton, who rushed for 121 yards.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Bradley Byrd for the heroic effort on defense: he. Oak Grove's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.
