Softball Game Preview: Solorio Sun Warriors vs. Victoria Soto Wolves

For the second straight game, Solorio will face off against Victoria Soto. The Sun Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Solorio will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Friday, Solorio got the win against Victoria Soto by a conclusive 22-1. That looming 22-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sun Warriors yet this season.

Natalie Pacheco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs.

In other batting news, Alice Sanabria and Melanie Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Sanabria got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Martinez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Sanabria also put up two hits, which were her first of the season. Diana Ascencio was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Solorio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .900. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Solorio's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Victoria Soto, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
