Recap: DeSoto Dragons vs. Hillsboro Hawks
The DeSoto Dragons lost against the Hillsboro Hawks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. DeSoto took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillsboro. DeSoto has struggled against Hillsboro recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
DeSoto's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidyn Mitchell, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Mitchell is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of J.J. Cook, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
DeSoto has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Hillsboro, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeSoto will take on Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillsboro, they will play host again and welcome Festus, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hillsboro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 441 points over their last seven games.
