Softball Game Preview: Sigourney Savages vs. H-L-V Warriors

Sigourney has gone a perfect 6-0 against H-L-V recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Savages will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sigourney's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Keota.

Meanwhile, H-L-V entered their tilt with Iowa Valley on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Tigers. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by eight runs or more this season.

H-L-V's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Sigourney, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Everything went Sigourney's way against H-L-V in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, as Sigourney made off with a 13-0 win. Will the Savages repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
