Basketball Game Preview: Lebanon Blue Devils vs. Smyrna Bulldogs

The Lebanon Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Smyrna Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lebanon has five straight wins, Smyrna has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Lebanon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Wayne County, who was ranked 18th at the time (Lebanon was ranked 25th). Lebanon blew past Wayne County 68-28 on Saturday. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Smyrna lost 50-27 to Stewarts Creek on Friday.

Lebanon is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Smyrna, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Lebanon against Smyrna in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 62-32 victory. Will Lebanon repeat their success, or does Smyrna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
