Football Recap: James Island Takes Down Ranked Ashley Ridge

James Island faced Ashley Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans came out on top against the Swamp Foxes by a score of 28-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

A big part of James Island's win came down to the chemistry between Connor Dantzler and his top target James Hurteau. Dantzler threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns while Hurteau picked up 140 receiving yards and three scores. Those four passing touchdowns gave Dantzler a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Ashley Ridge still got an impressive performance from Trevor Kalisz, who threw for 267 yards and one TD. Quentel Riley also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.

James Island's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Ashley Ridge, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
