Football Recap: Bald Eagle Area Eagles vs. Central Cambria Red Devils

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Guilfoyle, Bald Eagle Area was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Central Cambria Red Devils 39-14. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

Leading Bald Eagle Area to victory were Carson Nagle and Carnell Noone. Nagle threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, while Noone rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. 96 of those passing yards were hauled in by Beau Taylor.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bald Eagle Area was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 577 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Cambria only gained 219.

Bald Eagle Area's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Clark and Kyler Cleaver.

Central Cambria's loss came despite strong showings from Ian Estep and Hunter Pittsinger. Estep picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Pittsinger threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Estep got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of65 yards.

Bald Eagle Area pushed their record up to 1-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Cambria, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bald Eagle Area will welcome Penns Valley Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015. As for Central Cambria, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bedford at 7:00 p.m.
