On Monday, Rainier Beach faced Eastside Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Rainier Beach Vikings blew past the Eastside Catholic Crusaders 99-72. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

The win (which was Rainier Beach's seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 93.4 points per game. As for Eastside Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rainier Beach will take on West Seattle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rainier Beach knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully West Seattle likes a good challenge. As for Eastside Catholic, they will challenge Garfield at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
